Editorial policy

Our guides and rate pages exist to help you understand sending money overseas and make your own decision. This is how we build and write them.

Sources and dates

• Every guide lists its sources with the date we checked them. Exchange rates are mid-market reference rates shown with the time we checked them, and we hide any rate older than 36 hours.
• Every guide lists its sources, with the date each one was last checked.
• We prefer official sources: regulators, government agencies, state revenue offices and the provider's own terms.
• Every guide shows when it was first published and when it was last updated.

What we do not do

• We do not recommend, rank or pick products or providers, and we do not quote for any product.
• We do not ask for, store or pass on personal details.
• We do not let partners review or approve what we write.

Money and independence

We have no affiliate or referral links, and no provider pays us. See our affiliate disclosure.

Corrections

If we find a mistake we fix it, update the date and, where the change matters, say what changed.
